Academic Advising Centre
We offer a variety of services that can help you succeed in your classes, including coaching in the fundamentals (writing, ESL, math, computers, presentation skills, and biology/anatomy), tutoring in specific classes, and workshops on topics such as research and study skills.
Coaching, peer tutoring, and workshops are offered on campus and online through the Teams Platform.
Coaching Lab
The Coaching Lab offers all Algonquin College at CDI College students individual and small group coaching at no charge. The areas of coaching offered are listed below. Choose the subject with which you need support to see more information.
- Writing

What Can You Expect in Coaching?
Coaches guide students through subject matter and will not complete students’ work for them.
Students can access support in areas such as the following:
- Review of concepts
- Introduction to software
- Help developing self-editing techniques
- Clarification of concepts and questions
Students CANNOT receive any of the following types of help from coaches:
- Editing or proofreading of assignments
- Completing of assignments
- Answers to questions in students’ assignments or tests.

Peer Tutoring
Peer Tutoring Services matches students who are experiencing difficulties in a course with trained student tutors for one-on-one tutoring.
This service is available online and in-person (by request) to all current Algonquin College students.
Looking to become a Peer Tutor?
Looking to become a tutor? We are now accepting peer tutor applications for Spring 2023. The application portal will remain open, and we will be reviewing applications on an ongoing basis based on demand for tutors in specific programs.
